Digital transformation (DT), sometimes called the 4th Industrial Revolution (IR), is changing all aspects society in significant ways just like the IRs before. Today, every organization is a “data company” and data is the fuel for DT. Consumers and employees expect the data and information – i.e. the content – to be available on-demand as corporate and archival knowledge. Traditional records and information management (RIM) solutions cover functions for declaring records, disposing or archiving them. In the 4th IR, this is presenting new challenges to RIM practitioners and their traditional roles within organizations. How can practitioners help drive DT in their organizations and become trusted partners? How can these practitioners transform their roles to focus on DT risks and to become essential partners to help improve compliance, risk management, content services, monetization of digital assets, etc.? This presentation will discuss these key questions, provide strategies to address these questions, and how to position themselves for success as subject matter experts.
