Records management professionals are often trained in document and content management principles and processes. Digital storage of information, “born digital” information, and increasing volumes of organizational data highlight the need for information professionals to have foundational understanding of data management and data governance principles. This presentation will describe how information professionals of all stripes might find themselves in data management roles, strategies to successfully adopt those roles, and a working example of data governance in action.
