Shelley Morton became the Assistant City Clerk/Council Recorder for the City of Moncton in September 2009. In addition to her role as Assistant City Clerk/Council Recorder, she has managed the Right to Information and Protection of Privacy requests received for the City of Moncton since 2012.

Prior to her employment with the City of Moncton, she was employed by the Province of New Brunswick within the Health Care Sector.

She is a former President of the Association of Municipal Administrators of New Brunswick, having served the association in numerous capacities prior to her presidency.
