Speaker Bio
Dustin is Executive Director and co-Founder of the Public Service Information Community Connection (PSICC.ca) est. 2018.
Dustin discovered his love for community building while attending the University of Guelph, which is where he and PSICC co Founder, Chris Lutz met. Together over their time at Guelph Chris and Dustin were part of the team responsible producing, promoting, and planning extracurricular events for the student body, while becoming active in student government.
After graduation Dustin furthered his love for planning and producing live events as the Marketing & Game Day Operations Manager for UofG Athletics. Wanting to expand his horizons beyond the campus grounds, he took a job as a Conference Producer with the International Quality and Productivity Centre. It is here where he his eyes were opened to the world of Professional Development...and the concept that "Content is King". Then in 2002, with then roommate Sean Downey, Dustin packed up his meager belongings and moved to Ottawa to start Verney Conference Management Inc.
Fast forward 16 years, across many ups and owns, Dustin and now Busines Partner Chris Lutz founded the Public Service Information Community Connection (PSICC) in 2018.
The majority of Dustin's day is spent evolving VCM's most recent initiative, the Public Service Information Community Connection (PSICC). PSICC is a subscription-based, community-driven organization dedicated to supporting those individuals who are charged with supporting or managing Freedom of Information and the Protection of Personal Information within organizations subject to their Provinces's respective legislation.
PSICC's "business" focus is to build more robust regional and traditional "face to face" conferences that support a specific regional audience, while also leveraging the content of those conferences through LIVE Streaming and VOD Archives to build a more diverse and complimentary "content media mix" aimed at a national audience.
