"The Principles Maturity Model is of great value in developing an organization’s goals and actions regarding information management, privacy, security, access to information, legal requirements for information, and the management of unstructured data. However, the Principles Maturity Model is not always sufficient when it comes to benchmarking an organization’s data management (DM) practices which include the management of structured data in enterprise and line of business systems as well as other data systems / repositories such as open data and geographical information systems (GIS).
An organization can use the Data Management Maturity (DMM) Model to take a deeper look into its data management maturity than the Principles Maturity Model can provide by identifying data management strengths
and gaps and benchmarking data management capabilities.
The DMM Model, used in tandem with the Principles Maturity Model, provides a way to expand an IM Strategy to include a framework for building, improving, and measuring an organization’s data management function.
This session will illustrate how using the Principles Maturity Model and the DMM Model together can help your organization develop a winning strategy for managing all information assets.
This session will be of interest to IM professionals who are planning to use the Principles Maturity Model and the
Data Management Maturity (DMM) Model when developing (or updating) an Information Management Strategy. "
