Date & Time

Dan Davies Carol Smith Shelley Morton Dustin Rivers
Description

The fundamental service and support requirements this community provides are entrenched legal requirements and ensure our democracy. Public institutions are not able to pause and the basic tenets of our society must continue to function, especially in such uncertain times. Unfortunately there is no set playbook for how to manage critical business processes through a pandemic as business continuity is often relegated to the margins of already full plates. For example records management and responding to FOI requests...how is it even possible when you can't even access the records!?!? However, there are many who view the current situation with optimism. The pandemic, albeit forced upon us, provides for a unique opportunity to create change for the better and build stronger relationships between our public institutions and the citizens we serve. Together, we are part of a transformative cultural moment which will allow us the opportunity to revolutionize the way our work is done. Rather than endeavouring to "get by" until things go back to normal, we can seize this moment to effect real change.
